Official Statement – Fire at Green WEEE Facility in Buzau
We come to your attention with information about the fire which took place on 24.06.2020, on the outdoor storage platform located in Frasinu, Buzau, at Green WEEE, company part of Green Group.
The fire started on the storage platform for raw materials, in the area where lithium-ion batteries and accumulators are stored and the most likely the cause was a self-short-circuit.
After a prompt response from our team and the local fire department, the fire was rapidly controlled and extinguished. It affected only a small part of the outside storage platform, where recycling materials were stored, and did not damage the production halls and recycling lines. The factory is located in an industrial area with no residents around it.
The production activity followed the normal schedule in the same day, starting with 2nd working shift.
